• Here is the third part of four of my countdown, i.e. from my least favorite to most favorite to win, for my Eurovision picks this year. (Read my previous Eurovision post for my picks 30-21.)

    20. Israel
    Nadav Guedj — Golden Boy

Sounds like three different songs mashed together, one of which is an Ed Sheeran sound-alike. And nobody believes Nadav is a teenager. But to hell with all of that, this is the funnest song this year. You know, the kind you sing along to at the club in your drunken state. I’m a golden booo-ooo-oy.

  • Why I Started to Avoid Helping Strangers: My Budol-Budol Story

It is a familiar scene especially in the metro to see strangers trying to approach passersby asking questions, begging for alms or asking for a few bucks just so they can get home. For someone who is new to the city, you may fall for them and give them money. Worse, be a victim of a modus operandi that could cost you your life worth’s savings or your life. This is why little by little, passersby like me as much as possible try to ignore strangers asking for help. Good samaritans are becoming apathetic to protect themselves. Personally, I just smile (Important: without eye contact) and walk by them. This may be a little rude. What if the stranger actually needed help. Well, you can’t blame me. I’m just being safe.

  • #AsNTM3 Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3: Episode 7 – The Girl Who Finally Cracks Recap

Amiciness is recapping the 7th episode of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3. There will be a bit of a delay though this week and I am unable to live blog. 😔 I’m currently at a theater workshop with 9 Works Theatrical Stage Camp. (Side note: Watch out for our workshop class as we will be performing “Lucky Stiff” for the first time in the Philippines at the RCBC Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium this May.) Watch for this space though to read the full recap with all of my snark-filled commentary, and more episode deets.

This week, the girls are fighting for a chance to become the next brand ambassador for Subaru. But first, they have to take part in a photo shoot, wearing nothing but body paint. Who among the girls will be in the driver’s seat and who will be thrown under the bus this week?

Watch at 8:45 P.M. on STAR World to find out who are still in the running towards becoming Asia’s. Next. Top. Model. Who will win this cycle’s fabulous prizes? A Subaru XV STI car, a campaign for TRESemme, a cover and spread for Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, and a modelling contract with Storm Models Management in London.

  • #AsNTM3 Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3: Episode 6 – Amiciness Picks

This week on Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3, the girls posed in 3 different styles wearing clothes from online retail store Zalora. Each girl had 15 minutes to shoot, Tahlia had an additional 5, while Monika had 5 less. Who were on trend and out of style this week? Here is my own call out order:

    1. Gani

Well, Gani brought it in this photo shoot. I can’t find flaws. It’s that good. WAIT A MINUTE. Did anyone else notice that what she wore the same outfit she wore during the challenge in the last photo? Plus OMG anyone else notice the shoes? Did she actually wear THE SAME SHOES for all three photos? This could have been to her advantage, making the quick style change easier.

    2. Aimee

These are her best photos so far. She’s displaying a different attitude for each frame. Minor flaw with the mouth in the middle photo. But the rightmost frame! OMG I am in love with that jump. If I were to base my ranking on just one photo, this photo would be #1. Unlike Gani’s photos, Aimee’s actually looked like she was styled 3 different ways.

    3. KB

She’s continually improving; I’m actually surprised since I ranked her dead last a few shoots ago. Her first two photos are great. Maybe she could’ve been softer with her feminine look in the first frame. For the last one, she looks tense especially evident with her neck. I’m kind of getting Melanie C. vibes from her this time.

    4. Tahlia

Out of the 3 girls that wore sunglasses in their shoots, she’s the only girl that used it to her advantage. She’s bringing soft femininity in the first photo and a lot of sass in the last photo. Unfortunately for the middle photo, she’s suffering from dead eyes. There’s a general lack of eye contact in these photos.

  • Here is the second part of four of my countdown, i.e. from my least favorite to most favorite to win, for my Eurovision picks this year. (Read my previous Eurovision post for my picks 40-31.)

    30. Czech Republic
Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta — Hope Never Dies

This definitely sounds like a Bond theme meets Nickelback song.
