It’s official! Riverdale is my new guilty pleasure! I tried to shrug it off as just another one of those CW dark teen-angst drama shows, but I can’t help myself. I find myself wanting to watch another episode, that I needed to review this show weekly. (If you haven’t watched the show, I would practice precaution as there will be spoilers ahead.)

The 65th Miss Universe is already over but the Miss Universe fever in the Philippines has not subsided yet. It has been a tradition here at Amiciness to have a go at answering the Q&A questions of the major beauty pageants; may it be for Miss Earth, Miss World, Miss International, and of course, Miss Universe. Good morning Philippines and good evening New York! Amiciness went on a vacation leave today but not to travel. I skipped the office to live blog the 65th Miss Universe live from SM MOA Arena, Manila, Philippines (*channels inner Ariella Arida*). I spent the night watching Miss Universe specials of Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho to Gandang Pinay (hosted by Miriam Quiambao). HAHA! Needless to say, I’m all pumped up to know who will be the next Miss Universe. Good luck to all 86 beautiful ladies!
65th Miss Universe candidates wearing the color of the year and Amiciness’ official color (Via Miss Universe) Word has it that instead of 12 semi-finalists, 13 ladies will be chosen to move on to the next round. The 13th finalist would be candidate with the most number of Twitter and app votes, which totaled to 213 million votes world wide as of yesterday. I’m not an expert in pageants but here are my personal faves. *update* I just noticed that many of them are from asian countries. HAHA. Go Asia!

The 65th Miss Universe just keeps on surprising. Past Miss Universe queens will be gracing the most beautiful night in the universe. It’s like a homecoming of queens held in a country obsessed with beauty pageants, nonetheless. It’s like when Comic-Con announced that Hodor was coming to Manila. The excitement, the panic… everything is so surreal! I can’t wait for Mondaayyyyy!
*breathes* Okay. I’m OK now. These confidently beautiful pageant legends are the stars aligning in our country next week. Okay, enough “universe” references!

Last August, a friend from Canada returned to the Philippines for a vacation. Her hometown was Davao so like any good impulsive friend, I, along with friends from college, booked a flight and flew to the south again. This was my third trip to Davao and my barkada have already been there at least once, so we decided to just make the trip as relaxing as possible. (Our young professional bodies were VERY tired!) In our own terms, we wanted to make it a “Lola Trip.” No offense meant to grandmas, of course. We love y’all! Well, things didn’t turn out as planned.
A trip to Davao isn’t complete without visiting the president’s house.
