    The official synopsis of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 7, from the official website:

    The aftermath of an unexpected elimination continues to shake up the models in the “Bad Girls’ Room” as they dwindle in numbers; and the contestants must fake it ‘til they make it when they are paired up with their rivals for an #OOTD social media task and their first fashion film challenge with a male co-star.

    While some girls schemed against their fellow teammates in the challenges, others rose above the pettiness and worked together professionally, even selflessly. In another shocking elimination, the girls learn a heartbreaking lesson on how a team that is divided will always fall. Special appearances by global style icon, Kim Cam Jones, and fashion expert, Rayne Reed.

    “A team that is divided will always fall.” Is it the Good Girls? Because another Bad Girl elimination won’t be shocking at this stage, now that they’re down to 2. Surprise me, show!

    Asia’s premiere modelling competition is back for Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 6. The photo shoot this week was sponsored by Neutrogena with the girls having to portray one of the scents in Neutrogena’s Rain Bath Shower Gel line. Joel Lim is back behind the lens. Read on for my Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 6 review and how the girls fared in their photo shoot this week.

    It’s another studio shoot and there’s water involved so it’s par for the course for a Neutrogena-sponsored photo shoot. Having the girls constricted into a space the size of a bathtub adds a nice challenge. (I’m just hoping that the water was at least lukewarm and not ice-cold like last cycle’s shoot.)

    Likes and Other Forms of Validation

    Have you ever counted the number of likes your Facebook and Instagram posts get? I do but I count only those that matter.

    Call it petty and shallow, or a non-existent first world millennial problem. Whatever. The number of likes matters to me. Likes of people that matter to me that is.

    As a blogger, getting likes is important but whether I get ’em or not, I still need to do what I need to do. It’s good to have likers that aren’t people I know. I feel that they’re more objective and aren’t just liking because they know me or I told them so.

    I may not get more than 10 likes in all the posts in my newsfeed combined but when certain friends do take literally a second give me a thumbs up, I am at peace. I get the energy to blog again. It makes me feel I have an army of supporters rallying behind. Then again, these likes come rarely.

    I’m not gonna lie. I do feel sad when I don’t find their likes in my posts especially those that seemed to have “trended”. A part of me expects but I only find myself…well, disappointed. But yeah, I do what I gotta do.

    In a world where interaction can be done with just a click or tap of a finger, friends don’t necessarily see each other physically anymore. And with the traffic, need I say more. The only means of letting your friends know that “yeah, I’m still your friend and I hear you.” (without messaging) is liking their posts.

    Giving likes is the same as giving small compliments. Nice dress! Got a new haircut? I can’t wait for your next work.

    Always be generous ’cause you’ll never know who needs ’em.

    The models are tasked with an eye-opening social media challenge and a photo shoot that leaves them soaking wet, but the real tension surfaces when a heated confrontation reveals someone’s dirty little secret…reminding everybody to expect the unexpected.

    In a dramatic elimination, one of the contestants learns a hard lesson on integrity which reminds everybody to expect the unexpected. Special appearances by celebrity model, Fiona Fussi and Cycle 3 finalist, Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw.

    Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 5 Review + Amiciness Picks

    Asia’s premiere modelling competition is back for Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 5. This photo shoot was sponsored by Maybelline NY (Make It Happen!) with the girls having to rock one of three looks styled by make-up guru Nigel Stanislaus. Shavonne Wong (Zhiffy Photography) is back behind the lens. Read on for my Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 5 review and how the girls fared in their photo shoot this week.

    I’m okay with this theme. I didn’t mind seeing the Singapore skyline again. I also didn’t mind seeing that Roman-architecture-looking stairs that they’ve used as a backdrop since Cycle 1. The photos are much better shot than last week. Even though there are three different looks, the photos look cohesive enough in terms of composition and framing that they all look like they belong in the same ad campaign. An even bigger plus is that all of them looked good.
