Tonight, Asia’s biggest model competition continues, and we’re almost a couple of weeks to the finale. 5 girls remain. Who will become Asia’s. Next. Top. Model. Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 9 airs tonight 9 P.M. on STAR World. Follow Amiciness on Twitter (@amiciness) for live updates as the show airs. The official synopsis of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 9, from the official website:

We are down to the Top 5, but not everyone enjoys the view from above during a “Defying Gravity” photoshoot that suspends the models over a thrilling car stunt; and after spending their day off at an eventful Motor Show, the girls are introduced to the biggest game-changer of the season – a new rival with a hidden agenda.

The stakes are raised even higher with Top Model’s most dramatic shake-up yet and the girls must re-strategize in order to keep their place in the competition. Special appearances by famous stunt driver, Russ Swift; celebrity photographer, Kevin Ou; Creative Consultant, Daniel Boey and actor, Bobby Tonelli.

Hmmm… “A new rival with a hidden agenda?” They’re adding another contestant? It might actually be a comeback. That’s pretty much what most people expected from the teaser. Or, this might sound crazy, what if they bring back someone from any previous cycle as a wildcard? Now that would be unexpected.

  • Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 7 Review + Amiciness Picks

Asia’s premiere modelling competition is back for Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 7. The girls are tackling their first fashion film (a.k.a. video shoot) showing off clothes from this week’s sponsor ZALORA. Kevin Ou, who shot last cycle’s Subaru music video, is back behind the lens. Read on for my Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 7 review and how the girls fared in their shoot this week.

They’re shooting at a beach resort in Sentosa this time. Again, better than the overused harbor backdrop or inside the studio. The final result didn’t look much like a ZALORA ad campaign, but more like something I see in a stock video footage site. Complete with the light leaks, bokeh, and vaguely-familiar indie pop-rock background music!

So who among the girls rocked their Coachella-inspired look? Here are my Amiciness picks this week…

The official synopsis of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 7, from the official website:

The aftermath of an unexpected elimination continues to shake up the models in the “Bad Girls’ Room” as they dwindle in numbers; and the contestants must fake it ‘til they make it when they are paired up with their rivals for an #OOTD social media task and their first fashion film challenge with a male co-star.

While some girls schemed against their fellow teammates in the challenges, others rose above the pettiness and worked together professionally, even selflessly. In another shocking elimination, the girls learn a heartbreaking lesson on how a team that is divided will always fall. Special appearances by global style icon, Kim Cam Jones, and fashion expert, Rayne Reed.

“A team that is divided will always fall.” Is it the Good Girls? Because another Bad Girl elimination won’t be shocking at this stage, now that they’re down to 2. Surprise me, show!
