  • Why Try Theater Workshops

Theater workshops might not be the top of mind summer activity for your kids (if you have kids), for your siblings and even for you. Well, that was the case for me. I wasn’t really exposed to performance arts when I was younger. I had only been enrolled in a summer swimming class once. Maybe the reason’s financial or that summer classes aren’t as easy to find back in my day (90s HAHA excuse me). My only “experience” in theater then was being cast as a bird in Aladdin in fourth grade. I got sick so I didn’t really make it to the show. *sighs*

My first theater workshop was in April-May 2014 under 9 Works Theatrical. I got hooked instantly that I enrolled the next year again. Needless to say, I loved it!

Here’s a few of my main reasons why you should TRY theater workshops.

  • My Fave Summer Must-Haves

Hey! hey! It’s officially summer and hopefully, it’ll last until May! YEY! But before you go on a VL, drive to the beach and leave the comforts of your home, it’s important to check if you’ve packed everything. Traveling light does not help because you end up overthinking what to put in your small backpack just for it to be under or equal 7 kg. I know. It’s really hard. I always end with a trolley bag, no matter how hard I try. #always

  • My Journey to Fitness

I had my executive check-up last year and some of the findings were alarming (for my age). According to the results and the office doctor, I am overweight and, I have a mildly fatty liver and borderline high cholesterol. This was considering that I neither smoke nor drink. SO, for the first time in my life, I went on a diet, began exercising, starting my first ever fitness (and wellness) journey.

My name is Gabby Paras and this is my journey…(*cue title card*).

  • Amiciness’ Stand on Boxing [Parody]

    Amiciness on “Boxing”

Begrudgingly inspired by Rep. Manny Pacquiao‘s (currently running for Senate) stand on same-sex marriage:

Seriously, what do we expect from absentee congressman Manny Pacquiao. How many bills and laws has he authored or passed again? I’m even more disappointed at the people defending his “very scientific” statements. The LGBT community has been bullied all their lives and we don’t need a reminder, from a very public and influential figure no less, of how ignorant and narrow some people are.

UPDATE: It seems Manny has backtracked and “apologized.” *air quotes* He’s sorry for the animal comparison but he’s not changing his stance on same-sex marriage. K.

What’s your stand on boxing? Do you also think doing it makes us much worse than animals?

Oh and, if it isn’t clear yet, Amiciness is NOT endorsing Manny Pacquiao or his candidacy in any form whatsoever.

  • Struggles of Having an Office Crush (Part 1)

    “Office Crush”

Definition: Someone who you find very attractive and extremely special and you have a burning desire to be with at work.
Used in sentence: Ugh! Can’t concentrate at work when my office crush is around.

We all have one, at least if you’re from the working class. Sometimes, having an office crush is good. You are inspired to work. You look forward to Mondays and every day of the week (on top of the very few reasons). IKR. On the other hand, like all imaginary relationships, it can become a burden.

Here are some of the stages struggles of having an office crush. Cheers to incredibly over-taxed fellow employees! It will be better. XX
