  • Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin Inspired Birthday Cake

My friends and I have been surviving the pandemic thanks to ABS-CBN’s Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin. Ellice and Marissa’s rivalry have become our lockdown guilty pleasure next to Tiktok storytimes. (I am speaking for myself on the latter. My friends hate it when I send Tiktok links in our group chat.) Actually, we just want Ellice to suffer. #TeamMarissa. We live for Marissa and Ellice’s linyahan and lakihan ng mata confrontations , Gabriel and Hope’s slang Tagalog lines, and of course, Nanay Lucing’s proverbial monologues and occasional makatanggal-wisdom teeth sampal scenes. Being slapped by The Diamond Star is both an honor and a responsibility pero mukhang masshhhakit.

  • Designing a Drag Race Inspired Birthday Cake

A year into the pandemic, I think I had already ordered and tried so many different types and flavors of cakes and desserts for friends and family celebrating their birthdays. The challenge for 2021 is to push the boundaries even further.

I don’t bake but I like to conceptualize cakes in my head. Luckily, a friend of mine has been catering my requests (most of the time a little out of the box) and has been executing it perfectly. Just like how I imagined.

  • Hear Me Out: Adorable Home

So if you know me, I’d probably talk to you about Adorable Home by Hyperbeard Games, the latest app craze in the social media scene. Mine is in Spanish so it’s called Casa Adorable. I will not post about game hacks. That’s just not my style. But I’d like you to hear me out and let me pitch you this game that got me addicted since Pokemon Go, Floppy Bird , The Sims, Pokemon Red (using my old brick sized yellow Gameboy – yeah, I’m old) and even Tamagotchi (yes, I’m super old). Here me out, here’s why you should download and play Adorable Home.

In Adorable Home, you play as a stay-at-home partner and a homemaker designing your house. With love… literally. Love is the game’s currency! And I think that’s beautiful. You buy furniture, cats, plants, food, whatever, with love. Not hearts but love. How do you earn (more) love? Is that even a question? By giving love, of course.

  • Cheapest flights with Skyscanner

I may or may not have spent the year traveling almost every other month. Believe it or not, I started 2018 with no flight bookings at all. It just happened. Amiciness had used up all his VLs.

LWOP (Leave without Pay) or not, I have no regrets. 2018 was a trying year but traveling made it more meaningful. More experiences to learn from, more people to meet and more stories to tell. I had six major travels this year but the most memorable was my recent Singapore trip. Why? Duh. *wink*.
