Last time on Asia’s Next Top Model, May got the best performance last week and, having been the week’s winner, she will fly to New York for Maybelline’s New York Fashion Week. Lucky girl! Unlucky is Jessica from Hong Kong who has been eliminated. (Funnily enough, Jessica has already walked the runway for NYFW previously. She got there first! Haha.) Only 8 girls remain… who will become Asia’s. Next. Top. Model.

May can’t believe that she’s won a trip to NYC. Julian also can’t believe she’s in the bottom two for two weeks in a row. Sang In is sad that Jessica’s gone home. She cries in the closet. Aww… #sisters
Challenge: ZALORA
Cindy Mail! The clue is about paying close attention to details. Hmm… The girls head to a ZALORA pop up store and we see a lot of items in different colors. Clothes, shoes, hats, accessories, everything! Immediately, Daniel notices that someone is missing. SANG IN IS SICK! Oh noes! Jessica leaving took the best of her. BUT WAIT, I take that back. Someone calls and she’s on her way. Sang In’s late entrance is the definition of D-R-A-M-A.
Surprise! Sang In is here!
The ZALORA challenge is a team challenge with a twist. The girls are paired and each team is randomly assigned with a color theme. They each have to style themselves with ZALORA items in their respective color.
This week the girls’ are learning about fashion styling with the help of ZALORA’s Meghna Mistry.
- Tuti & Patricia – Blue
- May & Tawan – Green
- Aldilla & Angie – Red
- Julian & Sang In – Yellow
And guess what? They’re competing with their teammates.
Patricia has chosen a great color for her but she should have ditched the gold necklace. Tuti does a great job with her blue overalls. She has paid close attention to the details. Meghna can see her as a face of a top brand campaign. Aldilla also looks chic. Daniel likes Angie’s outfit since it successfully combines different shades of red. Tawan looks like a star especially with the sunglasses on. May chose an outfit perfect for the summer (though it’s mint green)! Sang In and Julian also have done well in the challenge. Julian’s hat really made an impression.
The winners for each match-up are Julian, Tuti, Aldilla and Tawan. Overall, Tuti wins and she gets a ZALORA shopping spree. She can take home anything she likes from the pop-up store!
Challenge Winner: Tuti
Six weeks into the competition, all the girls get a phone call home. The winners get 15 minutes while the losers get 10.
Challenge scores are in. Julian gets the second spot! Sang In’s mom is surprised that she wasn’t sent home. HAHA. Everyone’s crying. It’s been 6 weeks since they’ve last been with their families. OMG Julian’s speaking in Filipino. She says that she’s losing hope and is wanting to back out. NO JULIAN NO!!!

Oh my, it’s Yu Tsai again! – Tuti
Looks like Yu Tsai is here to stay. Where the hell is Kelly? The girls will be shooting on a boat with the Singapore landscape as the backdrop. The winner will be the face of ZALORA for 2016. WOW! This is big, you guys!
Sang In is first and she kills it! She’s used to Yu Tsai’s yelling, she said. Patricia does a lot of kung fu kicking and it isn’t working. Yu Tsai reminds her to focus on the brand. Angie is also struggling. She’s doing this hair flop a la Monica of Cycle 3. She gets the shot! May is also intimidated by Yu Tsai. Obviously, “Are you intimidated by Yu Tsai?” is this week’s interview question.
Do nothing May. When you do nothing, it’s everything! – Yu Tsai to Mai
Julian is pressured to do well but everything she does seems wrong. Yu Tsai gets frustrated with her and her mouth, especially. Julian hopes that someone does worse than her. BAD! Haha!
If I’m yelling ’cause I believe in it. When I shut up, it’s when I’m done. – Yu Tsai to Julian
Aldilla also struggles. She’s not in her zone. She is disappointed with her performance. So is Yu Tsai. Tawan is next. Cindy asks Tawan to roar to unleash the tiger in her! Tawan transforms into a gangster! I love it! Wow, Tuti’s outfit is really nice. She does dress well. Watch out girls, Tuti is in it to win it!

The judging panel this week is Meghna Mistry, Yu Tsai and Cindy Bishop.
Again, where’s Kelly?
This week is about the art of styling and color coordination.
Tuti – She could be an international model. The backdrop could have been nicer though. She kills it.
Tawan – Her picture looks awesome and it has serious attitude. BUT one of her toes has a life of its own. She is literally not modelling from H to T.
Julian – Her mouth is distracting. Yu Tsai says she looks like a fish out of water. Cindy mentions Yu Tsai stopped talking during her photoshoot. Yu Tsai hopes Julian stays for another week.
May – She is overpowered by her outfit. Her lack of experience may be her biggest liability.
Patricia – Her film didn’t look good because of all the kicking shots. In her best photo, she looks short. Yu Tsai admires Pat’s energy on set but it needs to be controlled.
Sang In – She understands who she is and how to transform herself as a ZALORA girl. This photo is a bit underwhelming for me. Just a bit.
Aldilla – Her best photo can be better. Yu Tsai likes her face but Cindy disagrees. She doesn’t look comfortable.
Angie – She sighs when she sees her photo. She makes Yu Tsai angry when she mentions she got confused with his directions. Angie tells Yu Tsai he should minimize the yelling just bit. Yu Tsai snaps but in a moment, Angie apologizes and everything’s happily ever after.
Except for the eliminated girl, of course.
Yu Tsai reitirates that he is here to help them. The girls need not be scared. Everything’s done out of love. <3 #YuTsaiCares

Julian cries. Cindy mentions again that she’s the last hope of the Philippines. I will miss Aldilla! She’s so pretty! Aldilla wants either Tawan or Patricia to win.
